Hey guys, in March I read 8 books, 1 novella, and 1 graphic novel! It's one of the better reading months I've had in awhile although the last week I got in a reading slump that I'm still trying to get out of!! Here are my reads:
1. Magnolia by Kristi Cook (5 stars):
This was a super cute southern romance that I read in a day!!
2. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout (3.5 stars):
This was just okay, not nearly as good as I was expecting but I'll still eventually continue with the series (I think)
3. Shadows (0.5 novella) by JLA (2.5 stars):
This was just okay, it was just like the first book in the series, Obsidian. This series so far just doesn't seem very original to me and not well thought out!
4. Confess by Colleen Hoover (4.5 stars):
I love Colleen Hoover so I really enjoyed this! It was beautiful, but I didn't fully connect with the characters in this one like I have with her others!
5. The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden by Jessica Sorensen (4.5 stars):
I loved this book, especially the characters and I flew through this!!
6. The Redemption of Callie & Kayden by JS (3 stars):
I needed to pick this one up right away but overall I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as the first. It was more about overcoming obstacles. I'm not sure if it was just me or it was just too much for me! The secondary characters Seth & Luke really saved this for me since it was kind of depressing and I'm excited to read their stories!
7. The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen (4.5 stars):
I definitely needed a break from darker angsty love stories so I picked up something different! I loved this book, I really love this authors writing and the story was so beautiful and inspiring!
8. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (5 stars):
I LOVED this book, I immediately got drawn into the story and felt connected with the characters! It was such a beautiful, inspiring and heartbreaking story that really made me think about my own life! It definitely was a bit of a life changing story for me! I just really connected with the story! I am excited to read more from this author!
9. Through the Woods (graphic novel) by Emily Carroll (3 stars):
This was one of the better graphic novels I have read - I really liked the art and each of the dark stories but it didn't blow me away like I was expecting! I was expecting to be left in shock with how the stories came together but I just didn't get it. I would read more from this author though!
10. Even in Paradise by Chelsea Philpot (3.5 stars):
I loved the storytelling and the characters. I liked how it felt (or maybe it was) a retelling of The Great Gatsby and the mysterious kind of way it was written. Hard to explain. I liked it overall just it fell flat at the end for me. I was left with "really that's the big deal?" I was expecting something bigger but still liked it overall!
Least favorite read: Obsidian by JLA. I was just disappointed.
Favorite read: Me Before You by JM hands down!! Highly recommend!!
What was your favorite read of March??
Hey guys :)
So it's been a little over 2 months since I've last blogged! Craziness! Honestly, I just haven't had the urge to blog until now :) I hope you all are doing well!!!
I wanted to share the books I've read in the last two months with mini reviews and share my current reads :)
1. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
(Book 1 in a duology)
This book was just okay. I didn't love it as much as I was hoping. I thought it was cute, but a little too immature for my liking. Some things irritated me about the main character and I wish there was more focus on the letters and her relationships with the guys in those letters. It was cute and had some good family dynamics, but not as good as I hoped. The book itself is beautiful and I do still want to read the sequel, P.S. I Still Love You - I just won't be running out to get it!
2. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
(Book 1 in the Falling Kingdoms series)
OMG I love this series!! This was such a great first book in a series. I love the characters, the twists, the romances, the plot is well done. It's amazing!! It's like A Game of Thrones for YA! It's definitely in my top 5 favorite series! It's not done yet, only the first 3 are out but I'm really looking forward to the fourth one! If you like YA fantasy, books like Throne of Glass series - I think you'll really like this series!! It's gets better with each book!!
3. Never Never (Part 1) by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher
Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors (in fact my second favorite - Nicholas Sparks being my first) so of course I loved this!! I haven't read any of Tarryn Fisher books but I could definitely see her influence on this book since I know she writes more dark intense type of mystery thriller books! This was soooo good, I loved the writing and I love the mystery of not knowing what is happening! I could not put this down and I am dying for Part 2 that comes out in May!! I cannot wait to see what happens!! So good!
4. Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg
I LOVED this book!!! It was sooooo cute!! I absolultey love romance stories like this!! At first I didn't think I would like it as much but the more I read the more I fell in love with the characters and this story!!! Best friend love is my favorite and I need more books like this!! It reminds me of Rainbow Rowell's story, "Midnights" in the holiday anthology, My True Love Gave to Me - so if you liked that or just like cute romantic stories I highly recommend this one! I will definitely be rereading this one time and time again!!
1. Alienated by Melissa Landers
(Book 1 in the Alienated series)
I picked this one up on a whim and it was just okay. I liked the premise of it and the start of it but then quickly got bored with the story and had to force myself to finish! I just wasn't invested in the characters and it was all melodramatic! Definitely reminded me of a Disney Channel movie or tv show! I think what killed it for me is I wasn't that fond of the romance - the way it was done. I just didn't really feel it. I don't know I just feel 'Meh" about the book and don't think I'll continue with the series!
2. Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover
(Book 2 in the Hopeless duology)
Colleen Hoover, do I need to say more?? I've been wanted to read this one for awhile. I read Hopeless, my first Colleen Hoover book back in August of 2014 so I was waiting to read this because it was essentially the same story told through the male perspective! Although in this we hear about his life and why he is the way he is along with how he met Sky and we see things through his perspective and I loved it! I liked it more than Hopeless, Dean is a great character!! I loved hearing his side and seeing him cope with things that happened in his life! It was beautiful and I definitely recommend you read it, it's well worth the read if you enjoyed Hopeless!
3. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons
(Book 1 in a trilogy)
WOW, this book is amazing!!! I started it in November and when I was on vacation I finally finished it and man it's such an epic book with one of the best romances I have ever read!!! The writing, the story, it's beautiful!! You get sucked in like you are right there with the story going through the heartache and all that the main character goes through! She's amazing!! And the romance, omg omg Alexander!! There was a bit of a stretch during the second part that I felt a bit bored and it got a bit too much with the intimate romance if you know what I mean, but then it picked back up and was just an amazing read! I cannot wait to continue with the trilogy!! They are big books but well worth the read!! Highly recommend especially if you like WWII historical fiction and epic romances!
4. Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes
(Book 2 in the Falling Kingdoms trilogy)
There is much more to say but I just love this series and it just gets better with the plot and the direction it goes in! I love the additional character perspectives we got, it just gets better!! Its amazing, go read Falling Kingdoms already!!
5. Easy by Tammara Webber
Meh. A lot of people recommend this one when recommending New Adult books but I was disappointed! I liked it at first, it was a fast read. But the preachyness of it (meaning I just hate when books take a subject like rape in this case and just tries to teach you about it and shows how to overcome it in the middle of a story) I can't explain it that well, but it took away from the story and made it cheesy and I don't know it just wasn't done well in my opinion. It seemed more of a story about rape rather than an actual story. I just don't like books like that. I've read plenty that deal with a certain tough topic but are just done better than this was. I don't know. I'm glad I read it because it's highly recommended and I want to get more and more into NA but I returned it that's how much I didn't care for it.
6. Fairest by Marissa Meyer
(Book/Novella 3.5 in the Lunar Chronicles)
I thought this was pretty good, it was nice reading more in the Lunar Chronicles series since it's one of my favorites! It was interesting to see the background of the Queen but of course this doesn't compare to the actual books. I was just disappointed because I just want Winter!! But this was definitely good to read before Winter - it did set up the story since we get to meet Winter and of course Queen Levana is her stepmother so it was good to see her background!! I'm just dying for Winter!! But I definitely think you should read this, it was a solid 4 stars!
7. Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes
(Book 3 in the Falling Kingdoms series)
AMAZING!! I love this series, there's nothing left to say! As I said it just gets better and better!! I am dying to get my hands on Frozen Tides the 4th book that comes out in the fall!! She is also releasing a spin off that will be like a contemporary and a fantasy in the Mytica world in one! I'm so excited for that too!
In the month of March I have read 6 books and 1 novella so far which I'm really happy about!! I hoping to at least get to 10 things read by the end of March and I think I can do it!! Hopefully even more which would be awesome! I'm in between books so right now I'm rereading The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks that I started in February and (a Game of Thrones is still on my current reads since August! One day it will get read) hoping to finish soon! I'm more than half way and wanted to finish by the end of March! I have just been distracted by new books that I haven't read yet! The movie comes out in April and I'm really excited to see it! I think I will just continue with it until I finish but I'm not sure if I'll pick up anything else! I was trying to get a book from overdrive ebook library but having trouble getting it on my kindle since it's an ePUB and also expecting 2 graphic novels from the library!
How are you guys and what are you currently reading?? What's your favorite book so far of 2015?
( As far as stand alone books go, I'd say Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg and series, the Falling Kingdom series!)
Anyway, happy reading! Missed you all :)
It's been forever since I really blogged! I'm sorry but for awhile I just haven't been as excited to blog!! Also I'm much more active on instagram and like that way of sharing my love of books with people!! If you love instagram too, feel free to follow me! :D Not sure what I'll be doing about blogging, hopefully one day I'll get back into the swing of things! Hope you all are doing well and reading good books!!!
Anyway so far this year I only read 3 books but I am reading a series that's becoming one of my favorites, it's SO GOOD! it's the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes! On book two and I'm in LOVE!
Still reading the Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons since December - I love the story so much just haven't been able to get back into it, can't wait until I do!! It's truly amazing, beautiful love story and everything! What's wrong with me?!
Also still reading Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin since August! I think I may wait to continue on when I can watch the show - hopefully I'll finish it this year LOL.
How have you all been?? Have you read anything amazing lately?!
Hi guys!!!! It's literally been so long since I've posted something on here!!! I hope you all are doing well!! I've just been so busy with the holidays and other life things!! And to be honest, I just don't have the urge to blog as much like I used to! Probably because I'm obsessed with instagram - there's a whole community of booklovers on there and I just love it so much!! But I still want to blog whenever I can!! I'm combining these and then I want to make a post about my favorite books of the year!
Like I said December was hectic for me and I only read 3 books and 1 short story!! And this marks my worst reading month of the year!! I am still currently reading a few I started and I DNF'd a couple books and I was in a reading slump so December wasn't my month!! But let's just dive in:
1. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
(5/5 stars - reread)
This is my favorite book and I plan to reread it every year in December so I was so excited to read it again, I started it right away and finished it within 2 days! I love this story so much, I can't even tell you!!
2. Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, & Lauren Myracle
I loved this so much!! It was perfect for the holiday season and it was just so cute! I loved how each was a separate story but intertwined so well together!! My favorite was John Green's story, it's just one of my favorite kinds of romances!! Loved this - would definitely recommend and could see myself rereading this for sure!!
3. Miracle on 34th Street by Valentine Davies
I thought I was going to love this but I didn't really like it. I just didn't like how it was written and I don't know if I was been a grinch or what but this story just wasn't for me! I didn't like how things happened so fast and I didn't really feel the heart in it and didn't really connect with it! I read it so quickly to just get it done and over with! I don't even think I'll watch the movie.... MEH.
4. Midnights by Rainbow Rowell (a part of My True Love Gave to Me)
(5/5 stars - reread)
I wanted to reread more stories from My True Love Gave to Me and I did reread half of Stephanie Perkins story, but didn't finish - I lost my place and it was just hectic! But I was able to sneak away to my room an hour before midnight on New Year's Eve and reread my favorite of the collection! It was the perfect way to end the year, I plan on rereading this every New Year's Eve! Just perfect, I want a full book so bad!
1. How to Love by Katie Cotugno
- I don't know what it was I just couldn't really connect with this story so I didn't finish it and returned it to the library! I don't know if I will ever pick it up again but not in the near future!
2.The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- I started this in November and just haven't gotten super hooked into it! I think part of the problem is I keep comparing it to Harry Potter and get disappointed! I need to stop doing that! I am around 100 pages and haven't taken my bookmark out yet so I'll go back to it if I'm in the mood I do plan on reading the series this year! Maybe it just wasn't the right time!
1. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
- I am really enjoying this book!! At first I didn't like it as much but the more I read the more I'm liking it!! It will be my first read of the new year!
2. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons
- I fell in love with this book, the romance is to die for!!! I was so entranced in it and I don't know what happened I just stopped! I think I just needed a break to read a quick light read which I'm doing but can't wait to get sucked in again!!
3. A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
- Yup still on the list! I actually read a couple chapters of this but got stuck on Eddards chapter, there not my fave chapters! Can all of them be in Jon Snow's perspective!? I'm actually thinking of waiting until I start watching the show so it can help me continue and finish this!!
Besides To All the Boys I've Loved Before and The Bronze Horseman, these are books I may read in January!
1. Fairest by Marissa Meyer
- This comes out January 27th and excited to read it!!
2. Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher
- Also comes out January 27th excited!!
3. Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover
- I've been wanting to read this and really have the urge to so hope I can get it!!
4. Even in Paradise by Chelsey Philpot
- Just got this book and it's so beautiful, hope to read it!!
I think that's all I'm going to plan for since December was so bad, who know's what I will pick up next!!!
I really hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years and I'm looking forward to 2015 and what it will bring!! :D
The To Be Read Tag was created by Dana @ Danasquare and her co-blogger Rachel @ A Perfect Called Books The tag is a bunch of questions about your TBR and I was tagged by the lovely, @shybooknerd from A Wonderland of Reading ! Thanks so much for the tag and sorry it took me SO long to do it!!
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I often mark books on goodreads as "to read" and I have a Amazon wishlist to keep track of books I want (and to look out for kindle ebook price drops) and I also just moved all my TBR books I own onto their very own shelf so all of them are together :) Also made a TBR collection on my kindle! Also I just kind of keep track in my head, because I don't mark all the ones I want to read! There's A LOT. I kind of mostly just go with the flow of things!
Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
E-book! I have around 70 TBR books on my kindle and about 50 in print!
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I'm a mood reader so it depends what strikes me! I made a TBR jar but never use it.. I just have to go with whatever I'm in the mood for :)
A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest?
Looking at my first shelf, the answer would be Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I've been meaning tor read the book forever and I even made it a goal to read this year! However, I tried to and just couldn't get into it! So maybe next year. Or the year after that.....
A book you recently added to your TBR?
On goodreads, Volition by Lily Paradis!
A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
Pretty covers certainly draw me in but I usually hear something about it too that makes me want to read it so I don't really have an answer for this one! But for the sake of something, one that comes to mind that I was drawn to the cover and I don't know much about is This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales! Love this cover, the typography!
A book on your TBR that you plan on never reading?
Possibly Wuthering Heights LOL. Just kidding it will happen one day! I'm sure there are a lot on my tbr that I won't actually read but I can't think of any at the moment. I have been culling my shelves on both goodreads and my shelves at home so right now I want to read everyone on my TBR! But who knows if that will happen, my mind changes all the time! But since I want to have some answer... I may never read more Jane Austen :/ I liked Pride and Prejudice but if I didn't see the movie I'd have a hard time getting through the book! And I started Emma years ago and only made it 1/4 and don't think I could ever finish. I don't know maybe when I'm older! But that's my answer!
An Unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
WINTER BY MARISSA MEYER. I need this book! But since that one is so far away and doesn't have a cover I'm also super excited for Confess by Colleen Hoover!!
A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you?
The Percy Jackson series! Although technically I'm reading the first one now but I haven't picked it up in awhile!
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
Why are these questions so hard for me right now? Ummmm.. everytime I bring up how I want to read Code Name Verity - people always tell me how good it is and that I need to read it!
A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
Usually if I'm super excited to read a book, it will already be read. Unless I don't own it or it hasn't been released yet! None of the books I have I'm dying to read right now because I'm just super absorbed in my current read which is the Bronze Horseman. Man I really suck for this tag haha!
How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
186! And I took that down from 680! And I'm sure I can delete some more... those shelves get out of control!
That's the tag!! I'm sorry my answers weren't super exciting! It's hard answering when you are a mood reader! I used to be overwhelmed by my TBR list but honestly I'm not anymore since culling my shelves and just not pressuring myself anymore!
Feel free to do the tag if you want to!!!
COVER REVEAL: Volition by Lily Paradis
You know that feeling in the pit of your stomach that stays with you, then tears you
apart slowly at first, and all at once shreds every fiber of your being?
It’s because you’re contradicting the universe.
Everything lines up so perfectly that you couldn’t have imagined it to work out any
better, but then you have to go and do everything humanly possible to ruin it because
you can’t stand to have it go right?
That’s what I did.
I did it because there’s a darkness that surrounds me, and I think I want it there.
My name is Tate McKenna, and my soul is blacker than my heart.

About the Author
Lily Paradis is the author of Ignite, a NA contemporary romance that is her debut novel.(from goodreads)
This cover is GORGEOUS!! I am so excited to read it!!! I enjoyed her debut, Ignite so I'm looking forward to all of her future books!!
What do you think of the cover?!
Hey all :)
I just wanted to share my current read that I am absolutely LOVING!! I was having a hard time getting into a book and I didn't want to pick a long one because that can be daunting because it takes me longer to read but I'm glad I put that aside and started the Bronze Horseman - I am loving it, it's soooo good! I don't think I have read a historical fiction this year which is crazy since it's one of my favorite genres so I'm just so glad to be reading this :) It's beautiful!! Can't wait to read more!! Even though it's going to take me awhile it is definitely worth it!
Also look out for tomorrow..., I am going to be posting a cover reveal for Lily Paradis's new books, Volition and let me tell you it's GORGEOUS!! I've never done anything like this so I'm super excited!!
Hope you are all doing well and reading something good!!
This week topic is... your top 5 rereads! I love rereading but I just don't make enough time for it!! But that's something I started focusing on making more time for the past 2 years! This year I've reread 11 books (5 Harry Potter, Anna & Lola by Stephanie Perkins and 4 Nicholas Sparks books) and I made a shelf on goodreads to keep track of my rereads and so far I've reread 30 books. Mind you, 12 of them are Nicholas Sparks books and 7 for the Harry Potter series! I want to continue to make time to reread some favorites!!! I would love to reread at least 10 books a year! I think rereading is important for many reasons! To experience why you love a book again, to give a book a second chance, or to see how the book has changed for you and what it means to you depending on what point in life you are reading it! Anyway, here are my top 5 favorite rereads:
1. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
This is my all time favorite book that I'm making it a thing to reread every December! I reread it last year and it was the first book I read this December! So now I've read it 4 times and that number will just grow. This book means so much to me and I love rereading it! Each time has been different but it also has been a good comfort and nostalgic read as well!
2. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Last December I FINALLY started my reread of the series and I finished the series for the second time then end of May. It was amazing, I was always putting off the reread because the series is so big but I can't believe I waited that long! And I cannot wait to reread the series for a 3rd time and continue to reread it! :)
3. The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks
Yes, he's on the list again! He's my favorite author and I reread 4 of his books this year and besides A Walk to Remember - the Guardian was my favorite reread of the year! I love rereading his book - like I said 12/30 rereads are his books! I'm making my rounds to at least read all of his books twice and I have 6 books to go! And then I'll just keep rereading his books of course :) His books are the perfect reread for me to get my out of a slump, to enjoy his stories again - his books are liking coming home for me and yeah I could go on forever but if any knows me even a little you already know my love for this author!!
4. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
I love this book - it's one of my favorite childhood books! It's super short and just a really good story!! I haven't reread it in awhile but that needs to change! Rereading books I've read as a child is something I love to do. Even though a part of me is so scared that I won't like the book as much now as I did as a child but so far that has not happened! I've loved my rereads of Holes, Bridge to Terabithia, the Woman in the Wall and this one!
5. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
I'm glad I made time to reread both Anna and Lola before Isla - the final book came out in August! I loved my reread of Anna but I didn't like it as much as the first time I read it. But I still really enjoyed it in a different way as well! But the first time I read Lola - I didn't like it as much as Anna and was a tad bit disappointed but I liked it much better with my reread!! It's fun to reread cute contemporaries like this and I need to reread more!!
So there's the list, I definitely have so many books I want to reread, it's kind of crazy!!
What are some of your favorite books to reread?! Any that you've been DYING to reread?
Good Afternoon, on my second cup of coffee :D It's my day off and I have lots to catch up on around the house but I'm still very tired and just want to relax, read, and watch tv all day haha! So much to do though so hopefully I start soon!!
I just wanted to share my current reads :)
1. How to Love by Katie Cotugno
- I recently started this book and I just haven't been reading much the past few days - I think it's because I've been sick so just too tired!! But I'm liking it so far, just not super sucked in yet!! Hope to read some more this weekend :)
2. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- I started this in November and still not very far into it, haven't picked it up in awhile. Just not in the mood for middlegrade but I want to finish it this month!!
3. A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
- No comments on this one, it's been on my current reads since August lol!
Hope you all are doing well and have a good weekend - I'm hoping we get our tree up and some decorations for Christmas up this weekend but I do work a lot so we'll see! :)
What are you reading this friday/weekend? Doing anything exciting?
Hi all :) Hope you had a great November!! It went SO FAST! I can't believe it's already December near the end of the year! Crazy!! Still not ready for winter and Christmas! EEK! I wanted to share some faves from the month of November! It was at times a stressful time for me but I have many great highlights of the month :)
It's safe to say I'm addicted to Colleen Hoover!! I've been reading her books since August and just can't get ENOUGH! So good!! If you haven't checked out her books yet, you need to! She always just seems like a really great person too and that's an author I will continue to support :) Slammed was amazing and I really liked Point of Retreat (the sequel) too! I love this couple :)
I've been obsessed with "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift and "Take Me to Church" by Hozier this month!! And also I still don't have Taylor Swifts new cd (at this point something IS wrong with me) but I've been hearing her new songs a lot of Ed Sheeran's Pandora radio station and I'm in LOVE. Can't wait to own it!! And "Take Me to Church" is the first Non-Jesus, Jesus song I have ever loved! It's so good and moving! I just love it!
My boyfriend and I went to see 3 movies this month and that's a lot for us!! We like to go see movies, but don't get to as often as we'd like! We saw Gone Girl, Interstellar, and Mockingjay Part 1 and we liked them, but liked Mockingjay the best out of the 3! However, my favorite movie is the one I saw at home on Netflix, While You Were Sleeping! I can't believe it was the first time I've seen it!!! I could have sworn I have especially since I love all of Sandra Bullock's older movies but I LOVED it! It was super cute, and great for Christmas actually!! I'm a sucker for a good chick-flick!! I'm sad I still haven't seen the Best of Me :( It never came in theaters near me so I think I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD! It's probably better to watch in the comfort of my own home so I can cry a bucket of tears!
I haven't been able to watch any of Nashville this month which makes me sad (because I've had to work) so I don't know when I'll be able to catch up! We finished season 4 of the Walking Dead on Netflix and will have to wait a year for the next season! the 4th season was okay, not my favorite season - some crazy things happened but there were a lot of boring episodes too! And we have been watching more of New Girl on Netflix but haven't watched too much TV in November! But I love New Girl - can't get enough of Nick and Jess!!
Thanksgiving is the best - best meal of the year!! I love all of it - the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pie... but my favorite dish is the one I make - Candied Yams :) MMMmmm... I went to Thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family and we had a good time! Also had Thanksgiving with my siblings and that was also a good time! :) Also I love Bigelow Acai and Blueberry Green tea - cold with no sugar! It's so good, and I'm a sugarholic! I highly recommend it!
I didn't use that many new products so this category is slacking but I love Covergirl's clump crusher mascara and I got a new tube this month so been loving that alone! Also Batiste dry shampoo! I like the smell of this one - very refreshing! And that's about it for this category... BOOKS over looks am I right!? :D

I gave a bunch of books to my local indie book shop for store credit and this time I got 3 hardbacks of NIcholas Sparks books (I'm switching out my paperbacks for hardcovers!) I also picked up a new one I haven't read yet but want to (I saw the movie and loved it though!) And then at my library book sale I switched out my hardcover of Sam's Letters to Jennifer for the paperback for 50cents (to match my other 2 romance books by him) and then found Ellen's book for free!

I really enjoyed the first book, Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend and am excited to continue the trilogy! Also it's really Morgan Matson so DUH!
9. November Nine by Colleen Hoover
No cover :( But it's Colleen Hoover so of course this is on the list!! It releases on November 9, 2015 - how fitting!
10. Winter by Marissa Meyer
Release Date: November 24, 2015
I just can't wait!!! This needs to be out already!? I also cannot wait to see the cover, I know it's going to be gorgeous! My prediction is that the red will be an apple somehow!!
And if Nicholas Sparks publishes a new book my year will be made! I haven't heard anything though! I'd also love something from Rainbow Rowell, Morgan Matson (besides her one under Katie Finn), and Stephanie Perkins!! I'm excited to see what the year brings!!
What 2015 releases are you most excited for?!
Guys, I can't believe it's December already! This year seriously flew by! I'm still not ready for Christmas!! But my December TBR is going to be really ambicious!! I just want to read all of the books!!! Let's dive in to my TBR....
1. The Lightning Thief by Percy Jackson
- I am currently reading this and enjoying so far, just haven't gotten the chance to read a lot of it! Hoping to get back into it soon!!
2. How to Love by Katie Cotugno
- I had to renew this one from the library since I didn't get to it last month, but hopefully I will this month! I've been wanting to read it!!
3. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
- I will be rereading this to get me into the Christmas spirit and because it's my favorite of all time!
4. Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, & Lauren Myracle
- A good Christmas book that I hope to get to :)
5. Miracle on 34th Street by Valentine Davies
- I've had this for years and hope to finally read it! It's so short too, so I don't know what the hold up is! I want to see the movie too!
6. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
- We shall see about this one, I've been meaning to read it for forever and I just can't get through the beginning so it will depend on my mood!
7. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
- I reread this last December and I just have been in the Harry Potter mood so I may reread it again this year! Who knows!
8. My True Love Gave to Me by Various Authors
- I will be rereading some select stories from this!! Especially Midnights by Rainbow Rowell that I plan on reading the very last day of December :D
I think that's all that I'm putting on the TBR, who knows how well I'll stick to it!! I'm so excited to reread A Walk to Remember and that's what I'm most looking forward to! I also still have A Game of Thrones on my currently reading list but I don't see myself finishing it by the end of the year!
Have you read any of these? What book are you most excited to read this December?
Hi all :) So I didn't read quite as much as I wanted to (this is becoming a theme) but I'm pretty happy anyways! I read 5 books and 5 short stories! I didn't do ANY reviews this month, I've been really slacking so I'm going to do mini reviews in this wrap up! Let's dive in...
1. Bloodlust (Stefan Diaries, Vol 2) inspired by L.J. Smith and the TV show, The Vampire Diaries
3.5 / 5 stars
Mini Review: I love the show and really like how these are based on the show and take place when Stefan and Damon first turned Vampires. The first one was how they met Katherine and turned and this one took place in New Orleans and it was just a fun easy read! They are enjoyable, a lot of the scenes I really liked. I loved that it was set in New Orleans too (good for the book bingo too!) and I just enjoy these! Not too much to say about it....
2. I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
4.5 / 5 stars
Mini Review: I really loved this book! It was so beautifully written and really touched my heart! I love the growth in the characters, seeing how they cope with their problems, all the art involved, and I of course loved all the romances! It was a beautiful story that I highly recommend!! When I started it, I felt like it was going to be one of my favorites of the year but for some reason It didn't quite make it to the favorites category for me, but it was beautiful book!! I couldn't tell you why, but I'm really happy I read it and need to read The Sky is Everywhere!
3. Slammed by Colleen Hoover
5 / 5 stars
Mini review: This book was amazing, I loved it to pieces!!! The romance was super cute and one of my favorite types of romances! I loved the family dynamic in the story and the friendships! I related to so much in the story so at times it hit really close to home for me! The slam poetry was amazing - so deep and inspiring! I've love to see one in real life! Will and Lake have become one of my favorite couples!!! I already miss them :/ I don't know how to explain it, but this book just felt so real to me - the way she writes characters is amazing!! Colleen Hoover never disappoints - I love all of her books so far! I highly recommend this book and all of her books!! Definite favorite!
4. Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover
4 / 5 stars
Mini review: This is the sequel to Slammed in Will's point of view a year after Slammed. I didn't like it quite as much but I mean, it's Colleen Hoover so I still loved it! And I enjoyed Will's point of view and just love the characters so much!! I wouldn't mind many more sequels of these two!! I really need to read This Girl (which is Slammed retold in Will's point of view) so hopefully I can get that soon!! I miss these guys :(
5. "A Father's Kiss" by Colleen Hoover
4 / 5 stars
Mini Review: This is a short story that is in the Kiss anthology (full of other short romance stories) and it's the only one I read. When I found out Colleen Hoover wrote a short story for the Slammed series in this free ebook, I needed to read it right away of course!! It takes place a few years after Slammed & Point of Retreat and is in Eddie's point of view (a friend of theirs) and it was just really cute. We got to see a little bit of what's going on with the characters and I loved it! It was really short but cute :)
6. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
3 / 5 stars
I was in the Harry Potter mood and at the same time I wanted to read something quickly while waiting for another book so I haven't read this yet, so I picked it up and read it!! It was okay, read like a textbook - some things about the beasts were interesting, some was a little boring. I liked that the trio wrote a little bit in the margins throughout - I wish there was more of that! And pictures would have been a nice addition to this as well! If you love Harry Potter, why not read this and with movies coming out for this eventually! Not a must read, I don't see myself ever reading this again but I may refer to it when I reread Harry Potter!!
7. Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover
4.5 / 5 stars
Mini Review: This is a novella that Colleen Hoover surprised with that goes with her book, Maybe Someday. It's in Warner (secondary character) and Bridgette (another secondary character) I really liked this, it was super cute - I loved their romance! I also love that we got to see Sydney and Ridge in this as well. It took place the same time as Maybe Someday so unfortunately we didn't get an update on how the characters are doing but I still loved it!! I would love more books for this!!
8. Carswell's Guide to Being Lucky by Marissa Meyer
4 / 5 stars
Mini Review: This is a short story about Captain Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles, should be read after Cress because it's about his past that we learn a little about in Cress. At Target, it's included in it's edition of Cress. However I didn't have it but Marissa Meyer released the short story for thanksgiving in her Newsletter!! I was really excited and read it right away! I love Thorne, one of my favorite characters so this was fun to see into his past! I read all the novellas for this series so I loved this but its not necessary for the series - you just learn a little about why Thorne is the way he is!! Cute!
9. Quidditch Through the Ages by J.K. Rowling
3 / 5 stars
Mini Review: Another textbook like read for the Harry Potter series. I really don't feel that much different about it then Fantastic Beasts - it was interesting at times and at times boring. I'm surprised that I found this more interesting than Fantastic Beasts because I'm not into sports, and those aren't my favorite parts of Harry Potter! But it was interesting finding out the background of the sport and how it relates to now even though it's ficticious! (Although people do play it somehow) It was okay! Probably wouldn't read it again either but glad I read it!
10. The Duff by Kody Keplinger
3 / 5 stars
Mini review: I wanted to read this after seeing the movie trailer because it looked super cute but to be honest, I think I'm going to like the movie a lot better! Everything felt rushed, immature, wrapped up too quickly with some situations, and just meh. I didn't really like the main character that much either or her friends! It didn't feel real and I think it could have been really great! Thankfully, I liked the romance aspect - it was pretty cute. I liked Wesley but this just overall fell flat for me. I wouldn't read it again nor would I read any of her other books. Her writing is just not for me!
Favorite of the month: Slammed by Colleen Hoover, hands down!
Least Favorite of the month: The Duff by Kody Keplinger!
So as you can see read a good amount of Colleen Hoover books this month - one of my faves. I just have to read 2 more of her books (Losing Hope and This Girl) to be all caught up!! I had an okay month but counted the short books on my goodreads challenge and now I only have to read 5 more books to reach my goal of 100! YAY!
Have you read any of these books? What was your favorite book you read in November?
