The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd

The Madman's Daughter - Megan Shepherd

I've been having a hard time still gathering my thoughts about this book. So I just can't write a full review for it. But my overall thoughts are: When I first started reading this book I was completely sucked in to the time period, the writing and the mystery of it all. About half way through the book, it kind of got weird and a little confusing (about the characters and plot) And I do enjoy love triangles but I thought it was a bit overdone and Juliet seemed to focused on the boys than what was happening. I loved all the twists and mystery of this - it's just so different from anything I've read before. (I am interested to read the book that inspired this one, The Island of Dr. Moreau! I haven't heard much about this classic and what it was about!) Overall I liked the story but I didn't totally buy it but I am looking forward to continuing the series (or trilogy) with Her Dark Curiosity. I'm wondering where this story will go!

Have you read this? What did you think of it?
