So this month I read 7 books and 2 graphic novels. I'm pretty happy with that number, but hoping I can read more next month!!

April Reads:

1 Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

I LOVED this book!! It was sooo good! I read Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by the same author last year and loved it as well and know that I want to read every book by her :) This book had so much heart - I highly recommend it! See my review here

2. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

This book was SOOO cute, I loved it! It was filled with so many cute moments, I loved the romance and the characters!! I really like this author read both of her other books, Eleanor and Park and Fangirl but this one is my favorite of hers :) See my review here

3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

I am currently rereading the series for my first time, I started the first one again in December and continuing until I finish it while reading other books! I started this one in February but read the majority in April since I was really in the mood for it! I love rereading the series, it feels nice to relive the moments but also be surprised at the same time since there's a lot I forgot!

4. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

And yet another SUPER cute book!! I read this one in one day, it was so cute - loved the banter between the two main characters and there's just so much cute moments. I don't think I can say CUTE enough with this book!! I am so excited to read more from this author! See my review here

5. Clockwork Angel: The Graphic Novel by Cassandra Clare

I read the infernal devices trilogy last year and fell in love with it, it is now one of my favorite series :) I decided to read the graphic novel for a readathon called the Clareathon and I loved revisiting the story in a whole new way! See my review here

6. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I have been meaning to read this book for awhile so I am glad that I picked it up! It took a bit to get into but once I did, I was sucked into the story! It was interesting and definitely threw me for a loop or two! I do want to check out her other two books, Sharp Objects and Dark Places at some point and would love to read more psychological thrillers! See my review here

7. Ghost World (graphic novel) by Daniel Clowes

I didn't do a review for this one because there wasn't much to say. I read it based on a recommendation and I also want to read more graphic novels. It was fun and different. I liked the two girls relationship and the way the story played out - it was a bit rushed at the end but overall it was just okay. I don't think I'll see the movie, it's not something I'd think I'd enjoy as a movie! Update May 3: So I looked up the trailer to the movie, and totally already seen it without realizing it! And I really like it, Thora Birch and Scarlet Johannsen are in it, I need to watch it again!!

8. Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

I received this book from netgalley as an e-arc and I didn't get to read it before it was released on April 1 but a lot of people were buzzing about it so it pushed me to read it. Overall I thought it was a beautiful story told through letters. See me review here

9. Origins (Stefan's Diaries 1) inspired by LJ Smith and the TV show, The Vampire Diaries

I love the show the Vampire Diaries (although I am so behind this season, will have to wait until it comes on Netflix to watch it) and I read the original series by L.J. Smith - I don't think I'll read any more of the billion spin off series but I was interested to read Stefan's Diaries because it's based more on the show and set back in the day. This one was set when Damon and Stefan met Katherine and became Vampires. It was a fun short read! I plan on continuing the series but I don't have plans to pick the second one up soon. I didn't do a review but may do a series one. If you like the show and want more background information on Stefan and Damon and how they became vampires, I'd say give it a go. It's pretty similar to the show mostly and it was decently written!

Favorite of the month: This one is so hard between the 3 really cute reads I read this month, Second Chance Summer, Attachments, and The Distance Between Us but I think I'm going to go with my first read this month, Second Chance Summer. But all three were so good!

Least favorite of the month: Probably Ghost World - it was just okay

There's all the books I read in April. I am still currently reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith that I started in February. I haven't picked it back up in awhile - I'm just hoping to finish it this year! I just haven't been in the mood for it! But I am going to move on to the books I hope to read in May!

1. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

- I am hoping to start and read a good chunk of this this month! I haven't been in the mood to get back into Harry Potter lately, but I hope I will soon!

2. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

- I will be reading this one for the bookclub I am in. I was supposed to read Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian last month and I tried to read it but I got annoyed and just couldn't read on. I wasn't in the mood for it so I didn't want to force myself to read it! But this one I am really excited to read, I have heard nothing but good things!!

3. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

- This one comes out May 6 and I am sooo excited to read it :) I love her other books so I am sure I will love this one too!

4. Just One Night by Gayle Forman

- I am beyond excited for this novella that comes out May 29 and is a companion to her Just One Day and Just One Year duology that will show what happens next! YAY!! I wish more authors would do this! :)

I don't have any other books planned but I'm hoping to read two more new releases this month, The Blonde by Anna Godbersen (comes out May 13) and The One & Only by Emily Giffin (comes out May 20) but only if I can get them from the library as they are quite expensive for me! I was also hoping to read Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman since the second season of the show is airing on June 6 on netflix! I've also been eyeing Open Road Summer by Emery Lord that came out last month, sounds so good! And also want to read The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas or at least one novella or so from it and I don't know where else my mood will take me!

Have you read any of these books? What were your favorite and least favorite reads of April? Any new releases in May you are excited for?
